As we previously mentioned, items are the sole and responsible containers for any media you might have for a project. Unlike tracks that have no time, they are always placed somewhere on the timeline and have a duration. Remember that item editing in reaper is non-destructive. The content of the source file is thus never modified or changed. When we edit items, basically we must select either the item itself, or a portion of it, and then we can split, copy, move, delete, and so on.
